Ventilation is a huge power guzzler in your pig farm
With winter just around the corner, it makes perfect sense to optimize energy in order to reduce your heating bill. Ventilation, the largest power guzzler, consumes about 80% of the total power consumption in a pig farm. By choosing a SKIOLD PM motor you can reduce the energy consumption with up to 60% compared to a traditional Triac or Frequency motor. Several tests have been made to verify this result. Anneloev farm in Sweden and Hallumgade ApS in Denmark are some of the farms, which have obtained these results.
Latest tests are currently running at Anneløv farm in Vallåkra, Sweden. They have 950 sows and specialize in weaners. We have tested SKIOLD's PM fans since 2015, and the result is a reduction in electricity consumption by almost 60% compared to their previous motors from 2009. This result is in accordance with a similar test at Simon Høj, Hallumgade ApS. No other changes were made, and the replacement resulted in a halving of the electricity consumption.
The test at Anneløvsgården:
In May 2015, 2 Ø600 mm frequency-controlled fans were replaced with new SKIOLD PM fans in one of the weaner sections. In order to be able to compare, an electricity meter was installed in the renovated section and a separate electricity meter in an existing corresponding section with existing frequency-controlled fans that were installed in 2009. The fans are controlled by SKIOLD Apollo Multi.
