Zoogamma is an Italian leader in the production of milk-based and fibrous feed products, with a particular focus on feed for calf weaning and fattening.

With more than 40 years of experience in calf feed production, Zoogamma works closely with farmers to continuously improve feed quality, animal performance and production practices.

The company operates several production facilities in Italy. At its plant in Ghedi, Zoogamma produces milk- and fibre-based feed products, while powder-based products are manufactured at its plant in Casalbuttano ed Uniti.

A new feed line for calf production

When Zoogamma planned a new production line for calf feed, the company contacted CaReDi, SKIOLD's partner in Italy.

The project required a grinding solution capable of producing consistent, high-quality raw materials for calf feed. After evaluating the requirements, Zoogamma selected the SKIOLD Disc Mill SK10T.

The solution was chosen for its grinding performance, reliability and ability to produce a particle structure well suited for calf feed production.

30 t/h calf feed production capacity

The Zoogamma plant has a total production capacity of approximately 30 tonnes of calf feed per hour.

The production process starts with raw materials such as maize and barley, which are ground before being incorporated into the feed products.

The SKIOLD SK10T has a capacity of up to approximately 10–12 tonnes per hour for the products and grinding requirements used by Zoogamma.

This provides the plant with sufficient grinding capacity while maintaining the particle quality required for calf feed production.
