After having achieved the well-being standards by opting for Dac SKIOLD Elistar 2, we set out to renovate our 20-year-old maternity wards. The objective was to mechanize the distribution of feed while monitoring the consumption of each sow as closely as possible. The SKIOLD Modulosec concept meets this expectation.

With SKIOLD Smart Feeder, there are many possibilities and you can work exactly on how tobest feed your lactating sows. We opted for the liberal mode with the programming of a feeding curve and a flat-rate distribution followed by an accompaniment for the max. appetite of the sow allowed by giving a dose of feed each time she discovers the probe. The equipment works well and is very quiet, the sows are calm and eat without wasting. In addition, the sows remake their diet by mixing water and feed in the trough. They adapt better when entering maternity to the point that we notice a decrease in stillbirths. Their very good state at weaning indicates good reproductive performance to follow.
